"Brodkey also did a walk-through of the band room and ordered offensive "signs, pictures, condoms, etc." removed from the walls..."

Those damned offensive condoms all over the walls...

Harmless fun in a pigs eye, this in fact is the key to winning the war against terrorism in Afghanistan. We should immediately draft the entire UC Davis band and send them to Afghanistan.

Onward Christian soldiers, marching off to war, in the lead should be well endowed topless females tooting Tubas, at the mere sight of such a vanguard, the collective minds of Al-Quida and the Taliban would implode, causing the roofs of the very caves they hide in to collapse, and everyone would live happily ever ever. Due to the FCC, we may be unable to televise the event, but we could show the mini vans with the tape on the windshield. Janet Jackson will be so jealous.

We did this in high school though it was always "optional" to do the pushups.

Haha, my friend was in the UC Davis band and she had stories to tell. But after reading this article, I'm reminded of my stint in highschool marching band and how it was always the low-brass and the percussion section that caused trouble. I'm glad to see the tradition continues.

Meanwhile, Slabaugh is on stress leave and unavailable for comment, said his lawyer, Chad Carlock.
Awesome, can I get one of those? I've got a lot of homework and projects right now, and it's causing stress.

From the article

But on last year's road trip to the football game with Portland State, a trumpet player yelled "naked van!" and everybody in the vehicle - men and women alike - stripped to their underwear .

I'd be pissed too. That's just blatant false advertising.

That's not harmless, that's a sexual harassment complaint waiting to happen. I'm not saying I'd complain, but college campuses are full of people easily offended. It's all fun and games until someone gets a judgment. After all, we are talking about California. That's not a legal system with which I'd want to be involved.
