Ubuntu wireless networking problem

I tried posting this on the Ubuntu forum, but I have not recieved any answers yet, so I will gie it a try here.

I just installed Ubuntu (my first Linux experience), and I am impressed but a have a problem.

I have a US Robotics 5410 wifi card. I had some issues with getting it to work, but I saw a solution here.

http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthre...highlight=5410

I followed it, and now the adapter is alive. However, I can not connect to my router. I use a seperate router and access point.

In network management I can see the various wireless networks available, and I can connect to the right one. I am assigned my ISPs DNS adresses as well, but I cannot ping the router or my WinXP machine on the same network.

Do I need to tell Ubuntu to use the wireless card instead of the ethernet, or something? (ethernet works fine).

Any help appreciated
