Ubuntu: Where is my /dev/bluetooth?

I got a bluetooth adapter, plugged it in, and have no /dev/bluetooth. I'm a bit confused as to where it has gone.

Modules load for it and everything.

Any ideas?

I don't have any bluetooth devices so I don't know for sure, but I beleive it shows up as /dev/rfcomm0

hcitool dev
hcitool scan

or something like that may be helpfull.

My work lappy has bluetooth. How to use it in Ubuntu is well beyond me. I tried getting it to 'see' my phone but gave up.

I've gotten it to see my phone, but after a reboot other issues popped up... Its wierd.

To see your phone are you using the 'PalmOS Devices' utility under System | Preferences (in Gnome anyway)?

No, I just did a btscan. I haven't tried progressing past the simple stuff. I keep bt turned off most of the time.
