im trying to consolidate everything onto a single laptop. i will have vista business installed as the primary os, and i would like the ability to run server or alt OSes via a VM for learning and production.

there are places out there to get preconfigured VMs, correct? or do i need to install the VM, and then install each OS inside that?

side note... laptop is as follows:
core duo 2050 (1.67)
1.5GB ram
intel integrated graphics
intel wireless
good enough to run a VM inside vista business?

Microsoft has it's own free VM but I think it has a hard time with Linux.

Maybe check Virtual Box.

Frankly I'd just install my own instead of downloading one of their "appliances".
