Ubuntu user management

I am going to have at least 3 computers running Ubuntu 12.10. Is there a good way to manage the users across the systems so everything remains the same from one computer to the next. We have 5 people in the house and everyone is set up with a different account on the main rig.

The simplest is probably to setup the same accounts on all systems and have the secondaries mount /home via NFS to the main. As long as the UIDs match up it should work fine, but there's nothing like AD without significant upfront setup.
