I can navigate my browser to my Tivo and see my recording and dl them to my PC if I choose.

I can use Tivo4Tiny to rip recording from my Tivo to my PC and convert them to MPEG files

I managed to install Galleon and run in on my PC and Tivo - with moderate success. This lets me view images, music, Netflix queues, RSS feeds, weather, etc on my Tivo from my PC.

All that is somewhat nifty, but what I really want to do it modify my TiVo settings without having to navigate the menu with the remote. I'd like to search and record shows from a PC/Web GUI. Delete recording, sort Season Passes, etc. Basic Tivo Functionality, without sitting in front of my TV and using a remote.

Is there anything out there to do this? My worry is that this is such a basic function, I'm missing it completely in my searches.

Tivo has really limited what you can and cannot do with the boxes.
I know they have copyrights to uphold, but I wish they would open source the box.
There are going to be lots of the sdtv boxes going to the landfill once the hdtv switch is complete.

Theres some good tech inside the box, but its closed source.
Without the tech docs from broadcom its a dead end.
And broadcom is a major pain in the ass when it comes to talking with end consumers.

Honestly, though, the HD switch is going to take at least 5 years IMO. HD just doesn't offer much worth while over SD to the common consumer. Most people don't know the difference between an HD video stream and a upconverted DVD. It also doesn't help that there have been a fair amount of Crappy quality HD recordings made.

You can get some/all(?) of the source code from tivo.

You're able to install a ftp server on tivo boxes. tivocommunity is a good place to learn how to do this.

I don't know about deleting shows, but you can setup season passes from your pc. I just go to tivo's website (I think you can at yahoo too). Just search for the show you want and add the season pass.
