ubuntu live cd?

I decided to play around with ubuntu live cd just to see how it compares to knoppix. Every thing went well except my refresh rate is way too low and is killing my eyes. In system preferences I found an option to configure resolution and refresh rate but there is only one option for the refresh rate, 60Hz, ouch!

How can I change it to something higher?

I'm a linux noob so details would help😀

I don't think you can change the refresh rate because you can't edit the config file unless it is install on the hdd.

Ubuntu live CD is just about as good as Knoppix.

That's too bad. That pretty much makes it useless to me🙁

There isn't a way to specify the refresh rate before the install like in knoppix?

For me the default is max. resolution i.e. 16??x1??? @ 60Hz.

When I lowered the res. I had more choices for freq.
