Ubuntu install on new laptop ... problems

so i am trying to install ubuntu on my new laptop and i get the following error after clicking the install option

bin/sh: can't access tty; job control turned off


i have tried googling around and i have not found an answer any ideas

Ubuntu 7.04 pc i386

on the Dell Vostro 1400

i get the error after clicking the install button ...

Looks like Ubuntu is having issues with all Vostros. You could try the suggestions here.
