I downloaded UBUNTU and installed it on a Spare PC the specs for the PC are as followed

Two 1000MHZ Pentium 3 Processors
2 Gigs of Ram SDRAM Not sure of the specs
AGP ATI Video Card
Two 36GB SCSI Drives @ 10K RPM

I wanted to see how Ubuntu ran and .... well all it does it keeps crashing on ever application I open up. If I open up Openoffice Spreadsheet it crashes or any other openoffice application and all of the editing software too. I'm not sure what its called. I let the PC run for a while , probably around two hours and it didn't crash but I left it on idle.

I downloaded the Latest Ubuntu 7.04 btw.

Could my dual processors be causing this glitch ? Did I do a bad install ? What should I do to make this work right ? Is 7.04 Stable ?

FYI: As of now I don't have a internet connection otherwise I would run updates , is there anyway I could get the updates , burn them on a cd and then run updates ?

As Nothinman notes, a look at the hardware is in order. Start with the basics: Run the hard drive manufacturer's diagnostics on the hard drive and run Memtest86+ or Microsoft's System Memory tester on the memory. Overclocking is also an obvious possible source of problems.
