I had ubuntu 5.4 working on my second hard drive with xp on the first. Anyways was having no luck installing what I wanted, but just received some nice advice from Daniel49 (thanks muchly). In the meantime I had used xp repair disk fix boot to get rid of the linux dual boot set up.
Anyways I downloaded unbuntu 5.10 and thought to install it in the same partition - disk boots and loads up - asks language etc. -- but can not find the cdrom. Same thing happened when I tried my origional 5.4 disk. Changed my cmos to use my second dvd reader, but couldn't find that either. What did I do?
p.s. I really like the ideas behind linux ......... but maybe aren't geeky enough or something?
