Ubuntu booting help

We have had a couple of hardware issues issues and the main hard drive has booted a couple of different computers through a usb enclosure. Now the computer boots but if it just times out of grub it hangs on the purple boot screen. If I reboot and hit enter at the grub screen it appears to boot fine. It generaly gets booted in the morning and is on all day. Any thoughts or suggestions.

I can't think of a reason it would do that. Is the default selection the same as the one you manually pick?
