Ubuntu Boot trouble

My boot drive are a pair of sata drives running in raid 0. Second HD is ide. I am running xp on the raid and Vista X64 on the ide. I made a 20gb partition on the ide drive and installed unix(ubuntu) on that drive but when the machine boots it doesn't see ubuntu. does Ubuntu require the first disk?

What am i missing here?

You probably tool Ubuntu to install it's boot loader on the IDE disk and your BIOS is booting from one of the SATA ones.
