Ubuntu and Compiz

Has anyone gotten XGL to run on Ubuntu? I have a Nvidia Geforce2(yay) but have yet to suceed installing xgl. Would it be a good idea to do a fresh installation of it (ie: I reinstall ubuntu)?
Any tips?

I got it to work with my X800XL


It's quite snazzy and I used all ubuntu repositories


I used http://www.tectonic.co.za/view.php?id=916

It assumes you're using dapper, and so do I. If you're still using breezy, that's your first thing to do!

ah yes, forgot to mention that. Im running dapper drake with gnome.
