ubuntu 9.10 with i5

I have a Biostar TH55B HD with an i5 661 which appears not to be compatible with ubuntu 9.10 64 bit. Has anyone else had problems? Maybe there is a problem with the new integrated graphis on the chip? Any thoughts?

It installs fine but hangs and freezes upon entering the os.
 
Thanks for the reply I will try my 8800 gts and see if that alleviates the problem. I'll also check the kernel version.

EDIT: Started without problem with the nvidia card...guess this is a fix for now.
