Ubuntu 9.10 : USB Start Disk

Hi,

I've created a USB start disk once, but I'm not able to do it again.

The USB pen is the same pen, it is formated with FAT32, and it is not write protected.

When I enter USB Start Disk Creator, it correctly detects the Ubuntu image on the CD drive, but it says that the USB must be formated. Clicking format doesn't do anything, and formating outside the disk creator and reentering doesn't change the behavior.

What is happening? What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

ugh, i havent used that utility in a while because it gave me a minor headache a couple of times, so i dont know what to tell you about that one in particular. i used unetbootin to make mine and it was easy. you can try that

http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/

or search the ubuntu forums. theres a good chance someone there has a thread about it about 20 times over 😉

Nice, thanks 🙂

I would personally prefer to use the included utility, as I'm starting to be a huge fan of linux/ubuntu, and I really like the idea of getting a bunch of useful stuff ou-of-the-box. But it's sad it gives problems when people want to use it ... I've lost about 1 hour messing with it trying to make it to work with different setups ... so I ended up a bit disappointed. Thankfully the rest of ubuntu looks and works great ...

I'll definitely give it a try on that tool.

Thanks
