I'm trying to set up my Ubuntu 8.04 Linux distro's internet, but everytime I type in my info to connect to my Linksys WRT54GL router, it refuses. I just installed it yesterday and haven't done anything to it. Here's a screenshot (may need to click the image to zoom in). I remember installing 7.10 a while back and not having this problem, it did everything automatically.
My network is infact named network, and I've double checked my key, it should be correct. I've tried different variations of typing my network name (caps), but to no avail.
I am using WPA Personal encryption.
My router is a hybrid wired/wireless. I am trying to connect via wired.
MAC filtering is disabled.
I tried configuring net access in Ubuntu's network configurations as DHCP, because I am not using a static IP, didn't work.
Plz halp, I want teh Linux. Is there some sort of setup required before getting to comply?
-edit-
It seems this is a rampant issue, a conclusion that I've arrived at just by glancing at the Ubuntu forums. There probably isn't even a fix. What a joke. I installed 7.10 and network works. I've noticed in 8.04 that it butchered my network hardware installation and overall borked the entire networking capability of the OS. Fixing it is beyond my abilities. I am typing this from 7.10, works fine.
I tried upgrading from 7.10 to 8.04 as a workaround, copied 7.10 network configurations to 8.04, took 3 hours, but again, networking messed up.
