Ubuntu 8.04.2 LTS released

Or you could just post non https links... we're only going to a Wiki site and the ubuntu site, I've got nothing to protect!

Ah, I see. I was scratching my head because my original links were posted while I was using Chrome and I edited them with FireFox.

Why Ubuntu does this I don't know, but their wiki links are all "https". Even if you use an "http" link from their own site it will redirect you to "https".

For example, go to this page and click on the link to the wiki (upper right). The link reads as "http://wiki.ubuntu.com/", but sends you to "https://wiki.ubuntu.com/"... 😕

Good news guys, Anandtech is switching to VBulletin so we don't have to deal with this crap in the future.

I'll believe it when I see it. When it first announced it was guessed late fall it would be done.. then it was a few weeks after the new year... I just hope it actually happens instead of it being scrapped.

Heh! I digress...

They just switched to vB (from Zero Forum) at another site I'm on and there was a sh!tstorm over it - polarized the community actually, with a LOT of ppl leaving.

Man, I couldn't believe it! When they switched to vB, I felt like I'd hit the lottery, but...

Ppl don't like change! And, some of them even prefer kludgey old software like FuseTalk, as hard as it is to believe.
