Ubuntu 64-bit

I am thinking of giving Linux a chance again (tried a year or two ago). I think I am going to use Ubuntu 6.10. I noticed that there is also a 64bit version, and since my CPU is 64bit, I was thinking of giving it a shot. What do I need to know before giving the 64bit version a shot (versus the 32bit version).

Thanks!

It's not nearly as bad as it is in Windows, I'm running 64-bit Debian and the only things missing are flash and java browser plugins and I can't say that I miss them.

Aye, thank god. It's kind of ridiculous in my servers though. Luckily they don't need to do that multimedia stuff. The 64-bit drivers are really incomplete when it comes to codecs.

Okay, thanks for the input all! I think I will stick with 32bit then... You'd think that by now 64bit would be more accessible (not sure if thats the right word, but it will do 🙂) by now... Ah well, thanks again!

I never noticed, I've yet to find a audio or video file that 64-bit mplayer won't play.
