Ubuntu 5.04 - XMMS Freezing. :(

to all the people using ubuntu 5.04, any of you having problems with XMMS freezing? the moment i try to open a playlist (from shoutcast) it freezes on it. i havent tried playing a single mp3 because this is my work machine, i usually just stream music.

any of you ubuntu users having this problem?

(btw, this new release kicksass!)

Nope, I am using Rhythmbox since it comes with Ubuntu. You might try www.ubuntuforums.org as they have more ubuntu users there.

Alrighty, i'll check out the forums. As for Rhythmbox, I tried using that, but it doesn't stream shoutcast's playlist.

I had that problem as well, after I upgraded. I suspect that it is an issue with the output plugin. Try setting XMMS to use the esound output plugin, rather than ALSA or OSS. That fixed it for me. I'm still a little worried that ALSA seems flakey, though.

i changed it to esound and that seemed to fix it. thanks phisrow.
