LOL. Yup, I stay far away from Ubisoft titles at launch. Just been burned one too many times by game-breaking bugs to repeat that mistake.

Aside from graphics, game play is also affected...disappearing AI in FC 4 bridge scene. AI in other UBI games missing in retail versions really diminishes the atmosphere of the scene.
Last UBI games I bought was Far Cry 1,2...Probably won't buy anymore.

Everybody lies (in the game industry, about graphics)

We still dont have anything that looks as good as those pre-release videos of Crysis. That was in 2006.
In fact EA made a serious effort to have all the original vids removed from the internet.

You guys should go back to the Witcher 3 thread and check out the ~2 weeks or so up to release.

....it was madness: "Downgrades! OMG! what a bunch of jerks! I HATE CDPROJECT YOU KICKED MY DOG!" and on and on. :D

Glad you brought it up.

If it's a thing that exists in the realm of gaming, it's been accused of lying. Because that's what gamers do. Irrational hatred or adoration with no middle ground. It's tiring.

the graphics they have in trailers vs the graphics in the actual game is pretty comparable to auto-tune album vs meh live. I can't remember the last ubi game I bought for sub 30$, so over with the big pubs.

Done with Ubisoft after The Division. Most of their crap is just recycled reskinned content these days anyways.

Yep but when the game came out I wondered why people cried about that. It looked fine to me *shrug*.

I think the only company I've ever seen that releases a game that looks exactly like their E3 demos and presentations is Naughty Dog who only makes Playstation games and only shows games that are playable and only on the hardware for which the game is being made. Everyone else seems to put a demo of the game running on a quad SLI rig with 32GB of memory at max only to later realize that most people don't have that type of hardware and they have to make sacrifices for performance and memory constraints. Even Microsoft got caught doing that at E3 when their Xbox demo machines crashed and restarted showing a Windows PC startup screen.

Yeah, how dare MS run unreleased software on their SDK machines.

Using hardware not in the Xbox console? Like Intel CPU and nvidia gpu. It was pretty funny. Running forza on Windows with hardware more powerful than the console specs to demo the game. Then when the game came out nobody was surprised the demo looked better and they cut back a lot on the graphics for things like the crowd.

Has Ubi said why they did that? Obviously, at one point they had it, and, it just looks like they removed the high or ultra settings for whatever reason?

well there is a lot of flame about it..

the players are saying ubisoft downgraded it, so the console users wouldnt feel so bad. Not everyone can afford a monster rig to play the game at full ultra settings, and some people are just salty where they wont support the game unless the said console can play on equal setting as a PC.

To me its a bunch of cow dung, and i thought it was a tin foil act until we found out watchdogs actually had the E3 settings locked, and one could unlock them with a simple console tweak.

Ubisoft's response to it was that they wanted players to enjoy the game in full frames, and locked it so people wouldnt rant about how unoptimized it was and yada...

As for the tom clancy series, sigh... massive's statement was they wanted to level the playing field on both consoles and PC, which basically means they neutered it, because the console cant handle the full PC settings.
Anyhow its the last anything Massive and UBISoft is going to get from me.
The division was obviously optimized more for consoles, even down to the anti cheat or lack of anti cheat the PC version had at launch.

So unless im getting a UBISOFT title for my console, im gonna just avoid them.
