I'm looking to use their WAPs on a project I have (see my other thread) because the reviews have been so fantastic... but availability through normal channels seems unreal!

I contacted a few of their "distributors/master resellers" and all said availability was about 90 days out, and that this is the norm for Ubuiqiti. Also no phone # at all on their web site, not even for sales.

I can't believe that they could possibly function like that. How quickly can they replace a dead unit??

Can anyone comment on their experience? Where have you ordered from?

I see they are on Amazon, supposedly available from marketplace resellers...

Thanks

I had no issues getting a pair of AP-Pros last summer, I got them through one of the resellers listed on their web site:

I used Streakwave. They shipped within a day or two and arrived within a week. They appear to be in stock on their website, are they one of the ones you contacted?

Yes, I spoke with both Streakwave and Wisp-Router. Streakwave said 4-6 weeks, Wisp-Router said 90 days. Both said this was the norm for Ubiquiti and that they like to build-to-order. I understand that, but it seems like someone should bite the bullet and stock these things if they are so great - but it shouldn't be me! :) I assumed their distributors would.

The other 2 US-based master resellers did not answer (straight to voicemail) so I figure they are not worth dealing with.

I see some are available on Amazon as "fulfilled by Amazon" which is OK, but price is considerably higher than through other reseller channels.

Yup they've been difficult to find for the past 2 years I've been looking at buying some. I've only found one re-seller in Canada. Our local store stocked them for about 8 months, but has since backed out. I think Ubiquity really needs to hire a channel and supply chain manager. I doubt its a manufacturing issue, since that is likely already outsourced to China.

Sadly the supply issue has just cropped up within the past 4 weeks or so that I've seen. I used to see these all over the place, now I can't find them anywhere. Need a few more 3 packs for a few of our offices but having a hard time finding them. Wonder if the release of the UAC version has put their manufacturing in a tight spot with the regular AP's....time will tell.

I've been looking at the Long Range units, and they are still available from 3rd party vendors on Amazon for high prices. Also an eBay seller out of Latvia has them for sale. ;)

Yeah Latvia is the HQ for Ubiquiti :) I'd go with them if it wasn't overseas with a $36 S/H charge. I can't figure why they have so many available on ebay but I don't see ANY available from there distributors/resellers here in the states.

Their output is relativly low. On ebay you can put 1 unit or 10,000.

Ex communist countries are Not equipped to generate High quality in large numbers.

Distributors needs large quantities to sell it for a Good price.

I just ordered one (my first Ubiquiti product) from a Rakuten marketplace merchant for around $71 shipped. I got a tracking number yesterday. Merchant was Untangled Networks, and it was a couple bucks cheaper than directly from their web site, plus I got 15% Rakuten points plus 5% Shop Discover cashback.

I did notice that the normal ones have gotten rare lately, but the more expensive LR and the even costlier Pro are still available most places.
