ubid vs. ebay?

i never liked ubid. i never really liked ebay either. but ebay just has a huge user base, where u can find just about anything... so that got me sucked in.

uBid = individuals posing as companies scam you

I have NEVER been scamed by Ubid, there have been a few problems but in the end it always worked out WAY in my favor.

Also I have bid on the buy now option on Ubid when it was clearly marked with the wrong price and always got the product.

I wouldn't say scammed per se, just that in the past before reserves were used in almost every auction, if you got something for really cheap there was a good chance the reseller was 'unable' to contact their supplier and uBid would cancel your bid.

Never had that happen, I have been using Ubid for about 2 1/2 years, I have not bought any thing from them in about 6 months.

It happened to me a couple times. Maybe I was just unlucky.

Also, on a home theater set I bought they didn't list the shipping price, just that it was a certain price per pound. I bought it figuring it wouldn't be too bad, but I ended up being charged $109 for FedEx Ground (I did the calculations at the site and it was around $40-45). It was still a good deal even after that fat shipping profit but nowhere as good as I though it would be

ubid is evil. their bidding system sucks, no set closed time. maximizes prices.

refurb monitor i got from em broke. refurb laptop came with a pos harddrive that makes a racket and massive dead pixel. both sony. stay away.

Well it looks like I was just lucky with all my bids on Ubid.

BTW I woudl never buy a refurb anything.

I bought a laptop of Ubid back in 99, took them three WEEKS to ship and I paid EXTRA for next day shipping.

I had to call over and over again before they shipped it. I will never buy from them again.
