What the hell? I got an XP1700 for $104 a couple of weeks ago. Just checked the prices there again and some guy has a bid of $121 with (reserve not met) right next to it. Checked the video card section, same story. This sucks! Why are they putting reserve prices now?

Ubid is still around?!?

Wow. I figured they would have bit the dust a long time ago.

I shop Ubid everyday, and yes in the last week there have been many more reserves.

They put reserves on some items when the previous auctions for that item have closed way under what they want to sell for :) I have bought many things from ubid and always check new auctions for my item to see what they are going for to see if I did o.k. or not, lots of times I see the new auction with a reserve that is higher than what I bought for.

Dont bid in a reserve auction, the same item will be back with no reserve :D

ubid is atrocious. i tried getting a vendor acct.

"if you do not reply to this app withinn a week you will be denied an account for 6 months"

they wanted copies of my license, phone bills, bank statements. etc....

and get this, they wanted a fax of all the paperwork, and guess what? no fax machine at the number they sent me.

their vendor screening is much better than ebay's but their procedure towards it sucks.

They think they have set the hook and now are trying to reels us in. I stoped using ubid. They are no longer competitive. And people have been over paying for the refurbs all along. Send them an email and tell em what you think. And referb=used. And you shouldn't pay a new price for a referb.

Ubid has had reserves for a while now. Probably at least a year.
