Hi guys, i just got a 9800pro and i;ve tested it to work well. It runs HL2 fine, 11x8 2xaa 16xaf at around 60fps, madden 2005 11x5 allmaxed at around 35-38fps(sorta low maybe?), 3Dmark 2001SE at 18.5K(LOW?), 3Dmark2003 at 6500 and 3Dmark 2005 at ~2900-3000.

Now my problme is My Sims @ FPs. At 10x7 all maxed, nosmoothing, it does around 30fps(around 1/2 of what is should be for my system) at 11x8, it does 15-18fps and with edge smoothing on at any level, 1, 2, or 3, my fps instantly drops to 3fps in 10x7 or 11x8. I am running in windowed mode so that might be my problem sut i've forgotten which option it is to turn it off.

My 9800pro is clocked at 440/730.
My amd64 is 2.4ghz, 256kb chache(special oem chip)
1gb cas3 ram

I am getting correct powe and it's cooled by an Artic Cooling VGA Silencer Rev. 3 which is making good contact.

Try running the sims at the lowest quality in fullscreen mode. I really doubt that with the performance of the other games, that current settings on the sims would be the likely culprit.

weird....you should get at least 30 IMO. i read a summer AGP video card guide 05 on toms just yesterday, and i saw that 9800 Pro (or XT cant remember) was pretty good for the sims 2.

ok so u have edje smoothing off. turn off reflections. turn off vsync. turn on object hiding (hides objects on other floors of the house than you're currently looking at). and try fullscreen mode. u have latest patch? dunno what else i can think of

alright, i took away the -w instruction to run full screen, but my perfromance is still 1/2 of what is thould be. 10x7 max smooth, max everything else nets me 18fps instead of 36 or 38 as reported by a bone stock 9800pro(slower than mine) on THG.

I dont think there is a patch. 85hz is set.
