uATX board w/ 2 PCIex16, no onboard video?

know of any? I'd prefer Asus or Gigabyte, but open to suggestion.

I went digging through Gigabyte's website and didn't find any, and trying to find a motherboard on the Asus website is hopeless.

so I thought I'd check with the... ahh.. "volatile memory", shall we say.

EVGA made one back in the day for the AMD Socket 939 platform the EVGA 131-K8-NF44-AX

I don't know about modern boards though... since now days most video cards you'd SLI take up two slots which eats up all your mATX real estate

I'm pretty sure there aren't any micro-ATX SLI boards. not looking for SLI, just 2 video cards for 2 monitors. I don't want to have to do 1 PCIe and 1 PCI.

got 2 CRT monitors. mebbe I should look for a dual head VGA PCIe card. I'll probably have to do that. but Id be more interested in a mobo w/ 2 PCIe if I can find one...

Cards that come with a DVI out also usually come with DVI-to-VGA adaptors, so hooking up a CRT will not be a problem. The DVI plug is meant for this, as DVI carries both the digital and analog signal. You can try to find a dual PCIe 16x board + dual video cards if you want to, but there is simply no need to.

Something like this would meet your needs just fine (provided you weren't doing any gaming):

there is agigabyte board out there, that has a x4 slot that is open ended so you can plug a x16 card in to it. its micro ATX but it does have onboard video (g33 based)

there really are no non onboard video microatx boards . its just pointless. all the intel chipsets especially are just IGP chipsets with video disabled at least for the latest generation.

the p35 is a g33 with the video turned off, the p31 is g31 with video off. you can just buy a igp one and turn the video off in the bios.

Oh dear...that really is combining two niche markets. Multi-GPU + mATX. I like that DFI's catering to us, but I hope they don't get discouraged if the sales for this thing aren't particularly impressive. I'm not willing to get rid of my sound card just to have dual-GPU, considering the scaling (or lack thereof) of multiple GPUs.

On the other hand, I wouldn't mind seeing a more conventional mATX board from DFI. Or a 2x PCIe x16 configuration that still allows at least one PCI card to be used if the dual-GPUs are single slot ones.
