UAC Problem

Hello All,

I hope that help to my problem can be found. Ever since new this problem has existed on my computer.

My household has two user accounts that are used regularly, and an administrator account.

I have set up an administrator password, and can log into the account fine, install software, and do other admistrator tasks without issue at any time I want.

Here is the problem:
When I am in either user accounts and want to install software the UAC window comes up (as expected), prefilled with the administrator account name (I can't modify it) and it requests the administrator password. I enter the same password that I login to the admin account. The UAC reports back "Logon failure: username or password incorrect"! I can't figure out why.

Hmmm, you should be able to write in the administrator username(and password) in the window there.
Could you make a screenshot of it and show it here?

Why don't logon as local admin account. Go to UAC settings and set to "Never notify".

Or give the user an admin rights and logon as the user and change the UAC setting to Never notify.

😉
