hahaha, is this a joke?

The Beatles >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> U2

The Beatles were together eight years and made more hit songs than any band in history. They weren't just pop. Anyone who has listened to Rubber Soul on up knows that.

All I can say about U2 is anything after The Joshua Tree sucked.

I know they weren't just pop. But it is what they were most famous for. My brother had all their albums (yes, the vinyl kind) and we listened to them over and over again.

I saw Paul McCartney in concert about 14 years ago. Wasn't the Beatles, of course... but it was an excellent show. 🙂

Anyway, I still don't think the bands can be compared. It's a generational thing.

I love The Beatles and believe they have been a bigger influence on music than any other group in history.

That said, U2 is my favorite band, ever. Their music just gets deep into me.

(writing this as I'm actually listening to Abbey Road on Media Jukebox 😉

U2 has many great tunes but the Beatles have lots and lots of great tunes. That's just from a music appreciation standpoint. No use even comparing if you're talking about the overall influence of the bands.

I like both bands very much but on the whole, the Beatles edges out U2 easily. I would have a tougher time comparing the Beatles and Led Zeppelin. Beatles win out of course but Zep is much, much closer to call than U2.

Did you listen to All That You Can't Leave Behind? They shed that B.S. from the post-Achtung Baby era and got back to making some rocking music 🙂
