thats what i thought initially..but i then edited it. the two start off sorta similarly

those guys are such rock posers. bono trying to act all "crazy" but just looking like he's got a stick up his butt, and the edge with 10,000 guitar processors and still sounding like crap... just a sad joke. joshua tree or not, U2 may be the single most overrated music act in all history.

Mark my words, they won't be around by this time next year.

What's sorta funny is that when I first heard Joshua Tree, I thought they were starting to go downhill. I love "In God's Country," but I didn't enjoy the album as much as I did War or Unforgettable Fire.

For this U2 fan, my favorite album is easily "Under a Blood Red Sky". They were not "overrated" at that time in their careers.

I liked Joshua Tree, but that was definately the beggining of the end. Rattle and Hum was awful, and it went downhill from there. Old U2 was underatted at the time, but new U2 is WAY overated.

Bono has always acted that way. The way Edge plays his music for U2 defines U2. You can throw in solos or "complicated" guitar stuff, but it wouldn't sound the same. There's more to guitar than the mastubatory guitar soloing.

Every U2 performance is a great performance! Hoping to go see them on this tour here in Miami.

hope they come to Pittsburgh!! please please please

There's a dividing line in their discography... pre and post Joshua Tree... with JT somewhere in limbo between the two.
Its 2 different bands on each side of the line. Both fantatically good. (gimme the old U2 any day though... there is no arguing that).
There's also no arguing that they will go down as one of the biggest bands history. Hald the SNL cast was crying just from their performance and the entire crowd at that studio was going ape-sh!t.

Showmen for sure, and marketers for sure too (the Ipod this is getting ugly). U2 is my favorite all time band, and if you knew me or my musical tastes and history that is almost embarssing for me to say I love the biggest rock band in the world.
