,, Ok, here's the Question: Is is illegal to make a U-turn on double solid yellowline?

I'm asking this cause I just finished Traffic school and on one of the videos that I was forced to watch it shows making a U-turn on a double solid yellowline llegal:Q. I was like "WTF it's llegal, for over 4 years I though it was illegal":disgust:. I asked the insturtor and he said it's stated on the DMV handbook, But I just ran out so i can't proof it to you. But it's better if you don't do U-turn on double solid yellowline just for safely.

SO is it illegal to bust a U on a double solid yellow line?

as far as i know, its legal to do a u-turn as long as its not marked no u-turns. But dont quote me on that, drivers ed was a long time ago. also, it might vary from state to state...

Here in Arizona, it is legal to make a U-turn anywhere except where it is posted "No U-turn." If you are allowed to turn left across that double yellow line then it is okay to U-turn from there as well unless it is posted otherwise.

Regardless of other laws it is uniformly illegal to cross a double solid yellow line in every state in the union. Double solid means do not cross.

In CA it's okay to make a U-turn over any center dividing line as long as it's not two double solid yellow lines (IOW: four solid yellow lines)

Double yellow means do not cross. Don't even try to make a left, let alone U-turn. :(

Yeah, what he said. It's llegal (sp) to cross the double solid yellow regardless of whether it's to pass or turn.

Don't mistake lack of enforcement of a law as legality of the action. Cops don't enforce it unless you get in an accident, then you get a ticket and the blame for the accident. And it can always be enforced if you get a cop with an attitude.

U-turns are uniformly illegal in most states regardless of the presense on a double-yellow line. I NEVER do a u-turn, unless it's posted as ok by a sign, in a car. In my 18 wheeler the company I work for will fire you for ANY u-turn!
