I think its a dumb idea to to reward them. It didnt work for bill so why will it work now? These people havent changed even though alot hate america they dont mind taking are money & food. If they are rewarded again you can add another country to our "handout countries" we support.

"For nearly a year, North Korea has insisted that in exchange for dropping its nuclear program, it must get a a nonaggression treaty with the United States and large infusions of economic aid."

If these "leaders" are as smart as they're portrayed then they should just look to S.K and see why they're doing alot better.

Trust the North Koreans to honor an agreement to dismantle their nuke capability. Grant them concessions. Then wait and see where we are a few years after said agreement is signed. All I have to say here... here we go again...

- Diplomacy is always preferred over war.
- 2004, an election year is coming. This is on the minds of both Bush and Jong.
- For some reason I'm kinda hungry for seafood right now.
- I wouldn't put it past the neocons to lay down the foundations of a trap in any agreements made by the U.S.
- China, Russia, Japan and SK better damn well be paying most of the bribe money this time around...NK is their neglected brat.

Agreed.

Of course diplomacy is preferable to war, but how do you make progress with a nation who doesn't give a damn about honoring international agreements?

It's just more blackmail; why America should actively perpetuate what is going on in brainwashed-NK is beyond me. Those who think pacifying Kim with gifts is the answer are being utterly naive.

No to Non-Agression period. No to aid packages untill all nuclear capabilities are scrapped. Normally I don't like this cowboy approach to diplomacy, but in this case, what NK is asking for is ridiculous. We get NOTHING by signing a non-agression treaty with them. I say we mass produce the MOAB's and drob about 200 simultaneously on NK, gotta hit them hard else they will think we used nukes.

This is a broken record. Every 5 years or so North Korea extorts money by promising to be good and then breaks it within the year.

Fvck Kim Jong

The harder the line taken with NK the more likely they'll choose the route the global community wants to prevent them from taking. If treated with contempt NK is more likely to not only pursue nuclear energy production but nuclear weapons production as well.

NK's a militant nation but one who has existed in relative peace for a half century or so. Whatever is done should consider this.
