About 100,000-150,000 of them at last count. They just wear uniforms and come from organizations like the 101st Airborne Div (Air Assault), 1st Marine Div, 1st Armored Div, 4th Infantry Div, etc. The whole disagreement with France and Germany is really over the identity and methods of the inspectors.

Maybe we should be arguing semantics? :)

You forgot we want to increase overflights and immediantly dismantle any arms we find.

Yeah...the French and German ones would forget to bring their bombs and WMD.

IF the french and germans leave the bombs behind, they are not getting in.

The Germans are just embarrassed because they really don't have anyone to send. I read an article awhile back that said that their military is in such a sorry state that they were really stretching to send any troops to help in Afghanistan, let alone contributing large combat formations for Iraq.

The French always have their Foreign Legion and the nuclear carrier with the duct-taped propeller, but they'd probably stop in the middle of combat to sell their weapons to the Iraqis.

On the news last night, it was reported that gasoline prices may rise dramatically if Iraq were to stop exporting oil. My concern is that while the administration is intent on forcing Iraq's hand, the American oil companies are continuing to do business as usual. Their excuse is that contracts must be honored, and the oil must flow.

Another thing to consider...what about our oil reserves in Alaska? I thought the Alaska pipeline was built to reduce our dependence on foreign imports. How many oil tankers in Valdez are headed to the Far East instead of west coast refineries?
