U.S. Soldier Charged in Korea Hit-And-Run

The U.S. military did not disclose Olken's hometown, only identifying him as a member of the 1-43 Air Defense Artillery Battalion.

To be fair, nothing in the reports thus far say anything about the cause of the accident. Compliance with traffic laws in Korea is somewhat haphazard and driving under the influence is fairly common. However the soldier is in big big trouble because leaving the scene of an accident is a major offense all by itself and he was off duty, which means the Korean courts will have jurisdiction.
