We Americans voted for this. Who needs a "free press" when they tell us such lies as "your missiles sometimes don't kill the brown people you want them to". That is a slur and a lie because every brown person is a good person to kill for the American Military and our missiles ALWAYS hit their targets. Ask Mattis. They take pride in that stuff.

The U.S. has fallen from 43rd to 45th out of 180 countries on the World Press Freedom Index—due in no small part to President Donald Trump and his routine attacks on the press, according to a report released on Wednesday by Reporters Without Borders.

“In 2017, the 45th President of the United States helped sink the country to 45th place by labeling the press an ‘enemy of the American people’ in a series of verbal attacks toward journalists, attempts to block White House access to multiple media outlets, routine use of the term ‘fake news’ in retaliation for critical reporting, and calling for media outlets’ broadcasting licenses to be revoked,” the report from RWB read.

Don't ruin it for him but these polls change often and while Trump doesn't help, this ranking is two points better than under Obama in 2012. Within the report there is a section on "The US and Canada", while rightly unflattering to Trump cites systemic problems like inadequate protection for journalists. If anyone wants to blame Trump or Obama I suggest that they consider we've been in the 40's for a long time because of things like that.

I don't mind Obama shaking down journalists. He was an intelligent, discerning man who was conscientious and thorough and I trust that if he needed to, say, violate your rights... then he was justified doing so.


Trump is a buffoon and so is every conservative leader. Those people should not be violating anyone's rights. They simply do not have the character.
