Infos

The Federal Trade Commission on Monday forced the closure of thousands of Web sites allegedly used to trap surfers and subject them to an uncontrollable barrage of Web pages, advertising everything from
sweepstakes to hard-core pornography.

Users had to re-start their computers in order to escape the onslaught. :disgust:

For most users, then there is always the end task in win2k 😉

But yes, it is agood thing to see. those sites freaking piss me off with that.

wonder if they got "anadtech"

Nope: Just checked. What pisses me off is that they bought the name and then use a redirector.

that's why you DISABLE JAVASCRIPT in your security settings for the general internet! you should only enable it on sites you trust

yes, win2k is good 😀

I'm gonna piggyback here. Wedeso has a good point. I've tried that, but it's a pain in the @ss and almost impossible to load all of your "trusted sites" into the little "trusted sites" applet. I got so tired of surfing to a site, via a link, and not having it load correctly or not work correctly due to Java being disabled because it wasn't in my trusted sites list. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

OMG YES!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not if the site just made 10 god damned pages popup. Trust me I've been there. Using dextrous fingers and a cunning mindset I've managed to avoid rebooting on all but a couple of occasions, but these sites are devil spawn and those who made them should be thrown in jail and the key thrown away. I've recently gotten a pop-up killer going and that is great, but then for functional sites its a bit inconvenient.

www.panicware.com (sue me for not linking) has THE best pop-up killer. I've tried several and not only is it small and fast and better than the others but it doesn't make you pay for it.

I remember jamiepressly.com used to pop up nine (read it NINE) windows - that is down now. Horay.
