I saw this on the compusa webpage for 39.99 after rebate and was wondering if it is worth it. I bought a notebook last week with the built in 11g card and was going to replace my old linksys router with a new wireless one so we could use the notebook anywhere in the house. So I've been reading a lot of old threads about 11g routers, and from what I can remember noone has asked about this one. Is there a reason for that? Anyone that has used it or has insight about it feel free to give me your opinion. Router linkRouter link

I saw this router at SamsClub today packaged in a bundle for $95. It included the USR8054 Turbo Router and the USR5410 Card to go with it. I didn't even know USR made wireless routers and such. The link from Jack doesn't have this particular router on it so I'm not sure how it compares to anything else. Guess it's time to do some research.

Here's one review I found... The review says it does NOT support WPA but there's a subtext on the USR site that says: Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) will be supported upon ratification.

Whatever that means...

EDIT: Just found this page over at PC World that compares a bunch of these routers against each other...

A review like this can be very useful as far as getting some Technical information.

However it has to be taken with a grain of salt. Part of the considerations is Prices. The prices that quoted there has Nothing to do with the reality of the prices and Sale availability on the Market.

As an example the D-Link Bundle that I keep mention in recent week is quoted there for $175 Buy.com sell it currently (after rebate) for $87.

In addition the report is from November 2003, so it does not take in account the Super capacity of the D-Link and the Netgear hardware.
