This is almost sig worthy.

It's a plan that makes everything we've had over the last couple of decades look like the work of economic savants and prophets.

Exactly what effects do you think losing 1/3 of our tax base would have? And I don't mean what you would have happen, I mean what would actually happen. I want to read just how insane you are. You're basically taking the same angle as environmental terrorists, you know that right? The whole "destroy the city to save it" approach?

Oh and way to directly admit that your opinions are based on sheer, baseless hatred of anyone with an arbitrary amount of money; while trying to deny said.

In a nutshell: This makes you irrational. And comedic. :D

When you have a diseased limb do you keep it?

Sometimes you have to cut off the legs to save the body.

The rich are the diseased limb.

So you have no desire to become rich? Keep in mind that "rich" in the US is making 250k or more per year. So if someone offered you a job, that you liked, that paid 250k/year, you would refuse?

You'd have to, because if you didn't you'd become rich. And by your own logic, would have to be cut off. Long live the national proletariat comrade!

Like it or not, the rich are responsible for a lot of good as well as a lot of bad. Reigning them in is one thing. "Cutting them off" is cutting off one's nose to spite one's face. Or rather, cutting off one's legs to spite one's body. In a word: Stupid.

French star Depardieu moves to lower-tax Belgium

A Belgian mayor says famed French actor Gerard Depardieu has bought a home and set up legal residence in his small town, lured by the food, the people, the lifestyle — and lower tax rates than back home.

The Socialist government under French President Francois Hollande has infuriated many ultra-rich in France by presenting a 2013 budget that would tax top earners at 75 percent over the first €1 million of annual income. Belgium's top rate is 50 percent.

Mayor Daniel Senesael of Nechin, about a kilometer inside Belgium near the French city of Lille

This is the OP's sad attempt to hate on rich Americans (see the title of the thread) yet all he can do is post proof of why increasing taxes on rich causes them to flee.

I wonder what the OP thinks would happen if there were no "rich people" to support slackers like him with government cheese. Actually, I don't care.

perhaps we should legalize slavery again, and make slaves tax deductible, so that rich decide to stay with us

The rich aren't leaving France nor would they leave the US if we imposed higher tax rates.

They will adjust. Btw, this doesn't mean that I support France's move. The rich will just find creative ways to circumvent the tax code like they've always done.

The thing is that the top rates under President Obama's plan to just let the Bush tax rates on the top 2% expire would increase the top tax rates to only about 39.5% well below Belgium's tax rate.

Sure some people might leave. However, 39.5% is nowhere near as onerous as 75% and it's still below the 50% of Belgium that was mentioned in the story.

I think you need to learn what hyperbole is.

To be honest, the sycophantic attitude that so many people have towards the wealthy is sickening.

It doesn't matter how long you spend justifying what they do, they still laugh at you from their tax havens.

I think you need to learn more about the OP. He's as serious as they come.

That's the problem of a European Monetary Union, without a common legislative and executive with actual power behind it.

At least France has realized, that you have to recoup the money you spend, and the rich are the ones that benefit the most from the taxes they pay. If the populace is content, they won't rise up and violently take from the rich, what they believe to be theirs after all.

Shocking! Skyrocketing tax rates cause people with the means to do so move to places without skyrocketing tax rates? No wai! Whoda thunk it?

Methinks the socialists in France are about to learn that things don't always work out the way you want them to, and people don't always do things you want them to.

Punishing the evil rich for being rich doesn't actually help anyone.

Sycophantically sucking their cocks for being rich doesn't help either.

Some rich people might leave France, but if the net result is a higher tax intake then it was a success.

Why not just have U.N list "right to not being poor" as a human right that sure as hell will work.

Thank you.

Funny, I don't recall sucking any rich cocks. In fact I've spoken about how the rich should be taxed more heavily and reigned in. I just think taxing anyone at 75% is beyond extreme.

You on the other hand have made it quite clear that you'd suck the cock of the nearest OWS bum for free, and that you're just dumb enough to enjoy it. You'd also collapse our economy out of sheer frustration with "rich people" (I doubt you could name two dozen specifically). People like you are why we invented democracy.

Cool story bro. Does your "partner" know you're hitting on me through the forums?

When I read this thread a saying comes to mind "never argue with an idiot, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience".

Anybody who feels kicking out the rich can look at Zimbabwe as an example. Without the rich all you have are poor people and corrupt politicians.

What, are we back in middle school now? Then again, from the sound of your views you never left.

Yeah, because I'm the one obsessed with the sucking cocks analogy. I just quoted someone to reiterate what they said and, of course, being the homophobe you are you took it as some kind of assault on your manhood. Thus, I ran with it in a humorous way to diffuse the situation but you have to continue with your homophobic rant and twist my words into something ugly to try to save yourself the embarrassment.

Just keep insulting me over and over. Get it all out sweetheart. God loves you.
