U.S. Retailers Fare Better Than Expected(Holiday Season)

Upscale stores including Neiman Marcus Group and Nordstrom Inc. were the star performers, posting sales results that far exceeded expectations.

And some retailers got their sales with heavy markdowns that eroded their profits. Wal-Mart warned Thursday that fourth-quarter earnings may fall at the low end of its projections.

Hmm... High-end retailers are booming, yet those catering to, say, the value-conscious consumer, are treading water.

They cut prices to keep sales up. They made numbers look good today but hurt profitability. They put fresh paint on rotting boards. It only postpones the problem.

Clearly shows the plan of the New America wiping out the middle class is working like a champ. Only have Uber rich to keep the Neiman Marcus's happy and down at the other end even WalMarts will go bye bye, nothing but Mexican Flea Markets, yeah!

Typical responses no? I actually have tried to stay out of this thread because I wanted to see all the excuses fly. Now who was it a couple months ago who wanted to wait until January for the numbers? Come on - fess up.:D
