and then this:

The Lebanese-based Hezbollah organization, which is supported by Iran, will not rush to Tehran's defense if the U.S. launched a strike against its nuclear program, but would step in if the conflict spread to Lebanon, its deputy chief said Monday.

Sheikh Naim Kassem told Reuters that the group, which was established by Iran in the early 1980s but has since grown into a political party with 14 seats in the Lebanese parliament, had no plans to get involved in regional battles.

"Hezbollah is not a tool of Iran, it is a Lebanese project that implements the demands of Lebanese," Kassem said in an interview in the Hezbollah-controlled southern suburb of Beirut.

Hezbollah was created to get Israel out of Lebanon. Hezbollah's only target is Israel.

They constantly threaten Israel on a daily basis and tell them that if they violate Lebanon again that they will pay.

They are not afraid of big talk. There is no reason for Hezbollah to attack Israel if Iran is attacked. Like the leader said, they are not Iran's puppet. They would only attack Israel if Lebanon is threatened.

You have to be faily naive to paint all organizations with one brush.

While some are suicide squads others have deep political and cultural motivations. You have to look at what they would gain by what they would loose.

While I'm no expert I fail to see what Hezobllah has to gain by supporting Iran openly in a regional conflict. They might launch an attack on Israel, yet again, but I wouldn't count on them fielding troops in direct support of Iran.

Now I may be wrong. We would have to wait for them to seize an airliner or hold some hostages or something (several dozen to hundreds) and make demands in support of Iran. Either that or send troops to fight which makes no sense to me at all. There are plenty of suicide groups out there willing to do just that.

Seeing how Israel is not in Lebanon; they why is Hezbolla still launching attacks against Israel from Lebanon and Syria.

It seems as if they are talking out of both sides of their mouth.

They are sponsored/supported by Iran. Therefore if Iran says we need help; you think the Hezbolla will say no?

that's the part which should make anyone with half a clue laugh hysterically.

if ANY of you believe that the higher leaders of Hezbollah are anything other than Iranian intelligence, then I have a bridge to sell you!

some of you fools need to broaden your selection of periodicals beyond the NYT op-ed pages... seriously.
