U.S. flags, guns sell briskly

"Today, everybody bought."

"By Friday there won't be no flags left in the country"

"It's a concentrated Y2K situation that started since we opened up this morning," said Khaled Akkawe, who sold more than 100 assault rifles and shotguns through his two Shoot Straight gun stores in Apopka and Casselberry.

It was the busiest day ever for a business specializing in assault rifles and handguns.

"To me, it seems rather fruitless that they're buying them. But, still, I think it's the frustration people feel," said owner Chuck Love, a former Marine and owner of Love's Gun & Pawn in DeLand.

Interesting...

Ugh, I don't think it's really a good idea for hordes of emotional, first timers to go out buying guns.

Buy a gun, kill a terrorist...
Better be sure that the person you have in your sights is a true terrorist, else you go to jail.

<< what are people gonna do with the guns? >>

There is some near-hysteria among blue-collar redneck types that a massive terrorist plot is still unfolding. Sort of like that Chuck Norris movie, where America is besieged by dozens of attacks on school buses, neighborhoods, etc. People got nothing better to do than sit around imagining this stuff, I guess. Its pretty much the same people who spent thousands preparing for Y2K disasters. I suspect they sold their guns shortly after realizing there were no Y2K boogiemen coming for them, and now they think they need guns again.

Hopefully, the Arab communities are also stocking up on guns and ammunition, to protect themselves from the idiots trying to blame them for what happened. I never need to run-out and buy a gun, I'm always armed to the hilt. ;)

Perhaps the WTC disaster will be just a small disaster compared to what will happen :( hope not though, hope its all finished.

An old saying...

"guns don't kill people, people kill people"

Sadly, there seems to be plenty of people willing to do just that...

Sigh...

I don't think its senseless. They are just taking advantage of their rights. This is the U.S.A.

Exactly what we DONT need. Please folks, if you know you can't handle a firearm, TAKE CLASSES BEFORE PURCHASING ONE. Safety first. Nerds with guns is something we don't need right now.
