To be clear, plenty of Reps present at the hearing ..... but maybe not the "R"/"right" ones. I would take a good hard look at that mob, cause, damn son. You dirty.

It's an exercise in the theory of the Big Lie. The more outrageous the lie the more likely people are to believe you couldn't be making it up. There are GOP committee members in those closed door sessions, each of whom gets their own time like the Democratic members.

Basically they are saying if trump shoots someone, the local cops are not allowed to investigate the scene to gather data to present to Congress or other bodies. They have to wait till he is out of office to begin surveiling the murder scene?
Not basically, that is the specific argument they just made. If the President murdered someone it would be illegal (edit: not just illegal but unconstitutional) for the police to collect evidence until he was out of office.

It seems pretty obvious that the courts are not going to accept such a extreme view of Presidential immunity. Any sane court will come back with a ruling that our Constitution was specifically set up to prevent one person from having this much power. That the Founding Fathers were crystal clear that a President is not a king and is not above the law, even temporarily.

I mean, if I was Trump i'd just load a gun begin offing judges until they make him king pres for life! I mean, what are they gonna do?

Apparently there is currently a standoff occurring outside the SCIF where some documents/testimony is to be reviewed today--House Republicans not on the committee were attempting to gain access, and now have brought cell phones into the SCIF??

Edit: Apparently Matt Gaetz attempted to storm the SCIF during Laura Cooper's deposition--and was attempting to record it/livestream it on his cellphone.

Yeah, I'd charge each of them with obstruction and in the meanwhile, get security to toss them in the House Slammer.

Merging all the Trump corruption threads would create a massive singularity that would destroy the planet.
right, but we could probably have one ukraine/impeachment thread. it'd require the participation of the forum goers, particularly those who are wont to post new threads rather than use perfectly good existing threads.

it's harder to keep track of stuff when the conversation is fragmented among several different threads.

I dont know, there is so many branches to this already, maybe we need a impeachment sub interim until the madness is over?

Doesn't the yellow banner next to your name give you the power to merge?

There's a certain tempo to it so far, constantly driven forward by new revelations. I trust Pelosi will strike when she feels the time is right.

when you go after the king, you better not miss.

With her political acumen, I'm sure she has a plan for a rock solid impeachment case. Were this any time 2015 or prior, POTUS surely would have been impeached and convicted already

Absent your feels about some posts how about the real subject of the thread? Enough to impeach on yet?

They have said they have the goods for well over two years. I don't know why they haven't done anything except talking about how screwed Trump is...

Do it. Poop of get off the pot.

The pattern you exhibit, like this thread, where you ignore the uncomfortable facts and subject matter, only to complain and dismiss based on trivial issues is why you and many other conservatives are not taken seriously.

The house is on fire. Care to opine on anything other than the color of the drapes?

Well when you see posters that are worried about some civil uprising that they are going to have to protect themselves against Trump supporters with guns.... Over an impeachment.

That is way over the top.

Maybe you see that they are not really worried but you pretend they are anyway, cause you like your talking point.
You dont realize how transparent you are... and not a single soul here that dont see through you.

So, are you denying that Trump Zealots have murdered (and many attempted murders) on his behalf, yet?

No more so than the Bernie supporter that wanted to gun down the House Republican baseball team...

There are lunatics everywhere for every cause....

You guys wetting yourselves and talking about protecting yourselves against the great uprising of Trump supporters and then calling for any and every Trump supporter to be rounded up and hauled off to who knows where.

I didn't make the post for them. You obviously didn't read them.

The only barrier to removing Trump from office for a variety of impeachable offenses (refusal to implement sanctions on Russia imposed by Congress, campaign finance violations as individual 1, reappropriating emergency funds for the wall, multiple counts of obstructing the Mueller probe) is and has always been unwillingness for Senate Republicans to take their constitutional duty to provide oversight of the President seriously or worse.

Do you think it is appropriate to move forward with impeachment while they are still gathering evidence during an impeachment inquiry without even yet hearing from all the witnesses with direct knowledge of probable crimes?

Do you really the them seriously? And are you pretending calls for violent organization are the domain of the left? Based on a couple of forum posters? When the President on multiple occasions intimates violence toward those who have challenged him in this probe?

I do not seek to take anyone's freedoms away from them. I hope to break bread and tell stories with Trump supporters now and after this is all over. I hope everyone feels the same way. There is something wrong with supporting Trump but nothing wrong with being a Trump supporter. Those committing crimes on his behalf should face consequences under the law. Those folks too I hope to break bread with and tell stories with.

What the Senate will or will not do has no bearing on the House's responsibility. If they think he has commited impeachable offenses then they should impeach him, period.

No, but long before this Ukraine subject came up all I heard from the Left is how they have him now... And they have done nothing, but rant and rave.

I was making fun of the silly posters that are discussing arming themselves to protect from the coming Trump Supporter hoards. Below are the post I was referring to.

A few here should be hauled off with him because they will still say "nothing impeachable" even if they admit it happened.

I definitely meant "everyone." :D

yeah but they also all have guns.

and they get very angry when their feelings are hurt.

and lots of them have been murdering people over the last couple of years.

what happens when their Jim Jones is suddenly removed from power, convinced that it's an evil plot to overtake the nation, then seriously go about murdering scores of Americans like their brothers already did, even with their leader in power? seriously...this is a legit concern.

I do think it matters that they don't care that truth is actually truth, and that criminal behavior has serious consequences outside of trollish and cute 4Chan memes. ...I mean, they elected a fucking POTUS because they saw him as a meme. That is literally it.

what happens when they feel, what to them, is the serious sting of "lifetime ban"?

If you need protection I can provide it :D

Having guns does not mean their owners want to die, which they will. There's bravado that exists until the guy you are standing by has his head explode andjyou are covered in blood and brains. There's no doubt in my mind that we've reached the point where those in service will understand that Trump has betrayed our nation, the Constitution, and the rule of law. I've competed in F-class shooting and I'll be damned if I want to fight the armed forces who will distinctly not be in Trump's pocket

I agree that anyone convicted of a crime should pay yhe price as set forth by the law.
