A U.S. drone strike intended to hit an Islamic State (IS) hideout in Afghanistan killed at least 30 civilians resting after a day's labor in the fields, officials said on Thursday.

A U.S. drone strike intended to hit an Islamic State (IS) hideout in Afghanistan killed at least 30 civilians resting after a day’s labor in the fields, officials said on Thursday.

The attack on Wednesday night also injured 40 people after accidentally targeting farmers and laborers who had just finished collecting pine nuts at mountainous Wazir Tangi in eastern Nangarhar province, three Afghan officials told Reuters.

That's some messed up shit. War is brutal but I feel bad for their families. Hope we compensate them enough. I just hope we do not get blow back 20 years down the line.

It's funny though to think how much shit Obama got over his relatively controlled and open drone policy compared to the fuckfest it has become under Trump.

I don't find drone terrorism funny at all. And that's exactly what it is where the US deploys them. Death robots that could constantly kill you and your family. Pray for clouds.

Empire doesn't really care which party is in power. It usually gets its way.

Neocons like Obama? Luckily Trump has shown great restraint compared to prior admins when it comes to starting wars... though Iran seems to be trying to change that. At any rate, nice job, never pass a chance to get a one sided partisan jab in while ignoring Obama's actions, like letting ISIS thrive.

I don't blame Obama any more than I blame GWB. And in fact I totally get why we went to Afghanistan, just wish we had some kind of exit plan. Seems like once we ravaged a country that was harboring our enemies we didn't know what to do. My response was to the paritisanism of someone else, I wasn't the one that created that ugliness.

We had an exit plan, it was go to war with Iraq. The exit plan for that one is war with Iran. Sensing a trend?
