Something about gotta finance some kind of a wall somewhere and making somebody else pay for it one way or another...............

The Palestinians are angry over bullshit, that much is true and I find myself not having much support for them at all.

Yeh, bullshit like this-

There needs to be a Palestinian state. Israel has to get over it. I feel for them though when all of your neighbors want you dead. The whole situation is fricked up, there’s not an ideal outcome. Frick Zionism and WW2, but that’s just the situation as it stands. They need to figure it out.

Your wording makes it sound like you think Palestinians are a sort of killable and replenishable food source. Surely you know theyre human and not carp. Maybe theyve been this dehumanised to you and the fundie Christian who liked your post.

Wait, someone just accused another country of attempting genocide without facts to support it, and you manage to conclude from my pointing out the absurd falsity of his claim that I'm "dehumanizing" the Palestinians. Stick to the facts. Pick a standard definition of "genocide" and prove what is happening on the ground fits that definition. Or quit using the term.

Israel should be restored to its former state and all lands that are currently not under its control should be returned to its control. However, persons displaced by such an action should receive a fair compensation and the UN should make allowances to move them into an uninhabited region if no other nation state will accept them.

Yeh, never mind that nearly 2000 years have passed since the Jewish state ceased to exist in Palestine. That's 100 generations.

If you read what I said properly youd have realised I didnt say you were dehumanising them but I made the observation the way you worded your response made it sound like you didnt see them as humans. Seriously, read your post again and tell me that isnt the case.

Ok, they are being murdered slowly. Does this somehow make a difference in the grand scheme of things? No. I guess we'll start using the correct terms more often lest you start bitching about the real injustice here - the misuse of proper terms and clearly not the 'murder' of Palestinians. Feel free to scold me on the definition of murder now too.

This is a distinction without a difference.

You can't judge whether something is "genocide" without referencing numbers. You took my reference to numbers as being "dehumanizing."

"Being murdered slowly" would suggest that their population is dropping, slowly. Yet it isn't. The Palestinians are growing over 3x faster than the US population, and a little faster than the Israeli population.

Sorry you're so bothered by what you are suggesting is verbal nitpicking on my part. I'll tell you what. Words have no meaning any more. Let's just call everything whatever we want. Sound good?

No, it pointed out the hysterical use of "genocide" where it OBVIOUSLY did not apply. If you want to see it where it may be more applicable check out China which is actively eradicating the Islam from its borders (around 15 million people affected).

Since last year, hundreds of thousands — and perhaps millions — of innocent Uighurs and other ethnic minorities in the Xinjiang region in northwest China have been unjustly arrested and imprisoned in what the Chinese government calls “political re-education camps.” Thousands have disappeared. There are credible reports of torture and death among the prisoners. The government says it is fighting “terrorism” and “religious extremism.” Uighurs say they are resisting a campaign to crush religious and cultural freedom in China. The international community has largely reacted with silence.

Horrific as they are, the camps constitute just one part of Beijing’s effort. The government has destroyed thousands of religious buildings. It has banned long beards and many Muslim names. People are forced to eat pork against their beliefs. The Chinese government’s persecution of innocents continues even after their death. Crematoria are being built to literally extinguish the Uighur funeral tradition, which insists on burials.

Add to that the unprecedented security and surveillance state in Xinjiang, which includes all-encompassing monitoring based on identity cards, checkpoints, facial recognition and the collection of DNA from millions of individuals. The authorities feed all this data into an artificial-intelligence machine that rates people’s loyalty to the Communist Party in order to control every aspect of their lives.

China has banned any form of expression of Islam in East Turkistan, forcing Uyghur Muslims to publicly denounce their faith and swear allegiance to the Communist state. Recently I posted on Twitter a video of Chinese authorities informing a group of Uyghur Muslims that it is now illegal for them to greet one another with the Islamic greeting, “Assalamu Alaykum.”

Islamic texts are also banned, including the Quran, as are beards that appear “abnormal,” i.e. too Muslim-y. Last year, China published a document titled, “Naming Rules for Ethnic Minorities,” which prohibits names associated with Islam, including Medina, Islam, Imam, Medina, Hajj, and others.

According to reports from human rights watchers, China has ordered its officials in Xinjiang to send almost half of its population to “re-education camps,” otherwise known as forced labor and indoctrination camps, the kind long associated with North Korea.

There is a chance that in 20 years, Muslims will not exist in China while there is NO chance that Palestinians won't exist in Israel in 20 years. Do you see a difference between the two? When you conflate what Israel is doing as genocide, you demean your own argument.

This is why we do it.
Genesis 12
New International Version
The Call of Abram
1The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.
2“I will make you into a great nation,
and I will bless you;
I will make your name great,
and you will be a blessing.a
3I will bless those who bless you,
and whoever curses you I will curse;
and all peoples on earth
will be blessed through you.”

Amazing that a 21st century nation has it's foreign policy dictated by the ramblings of bronze age hermits.

You're right. It's not genocide. It's systematic impoverishment, dispossession & perpetual occupation by force of arms.

Bullshit whataboutism.

It's very unclear what the hell is going on in with our money strategy in the middle east.
I'm also very curious what sweden or germany are generally doing with their money in the middle east.

so about a 20 mile radius around the temple in jerusalem.

Meh, just less money for some corrupt Palestinian official's Swiss/Cayman bank account.

Why not pull all of the US money from the middle east nations and remove our troops and allow them to sort out their own demons.
