Typing URL into browsers...

When you type in a URL into the address bar of your browser, do you include a '/' at the end?

For example, do you type:

http://www.google.com/
or
http://www.google.com

Edit: Forgot to mention, I put a '/' at the end for some reason.

Yes, but not without some fancy extension or changing some setting. Opera comes with the feature by default 🙂

Yes, but not without some fancy extension or changing some setting. Opera comes with the feature by default 🙂

Well, you don't need to install anything. Simply bookmark the search box (as opposed to any other spot on the page) and it should work.

Edit: Either that or it's a result of the google toolbar I have. Can't remember which, lol.

Why would I bookmark Google.com 😕

The search bar comes built in in both Firefox and Opera. 😛

Firefox just defaults to "I'm feeling lucky" (Not even that sometimes? 😕 ) while Opera defaults to the results page when using the g command from the address bar.

I'd like it the Opera way around too, but if you type "google <terms>" then it does the same thing as "g <terms>" in Opera.

Having to type out the whole word kind of defeats the whole purpose of the shortcut doesn't it? 😕

Using google <terms> though, it still doesn't take me to the results page in FF 1.0.6. It just takes me to a different result. :roll:
