Typically how long to car tires last before you need to replace them?

it depends on a lot.

My dad's E55 runs through a set every 8-10K miles while his truck gets about 80K miles a set.

Since I don't like driving on aged rubber, and so much is riding on my tires, I replace them about every two years, whether they are worn out or not.

in the summer its not so bad to have minimum tread depth. in water/snow or whatever ur are so screwed its not funny.
