Called Walmart to see what time they close and the lady said 6 PM. It was 5:20 PM so I headed to Walmart and got there at 5:45 and they were closing already. I know it's Christmas eve but when a place advertises that they are open until a certaun time I expect them to be open to 6! The worker tells me they are closing early and I said this was nice seeing I just drove 20 minutes and it's not even 6 PM yet. The worker tells me, and I quote, "we've been here sice 7 AM so screw you"! I reply excuse me and he says, "you heard me, screw you". I was shocked that this little piss ant had the nerve to say this to my face twice! I said to the @ss hat, I want to speak to your manager NOW! He replies, "I am the manger". Now this puke is about 20 years old and weighs a buck ten wet, it took all my nerve not to snap this guys neck! I looked at him and said what your name and he said "Shawn, but it wont do you any good"! I am going back Monday and I am not leaving until this jerk is fired!

The only reason I was shopping at Walmart is that my wifes aunt gave me a gift card from there. The only way I would shop at Walmat is if absolutely no one else had the item I needed!

blah blah blah, I just left walmart. Us workers have to go home sometime. You would think you would have enough common sense to be able to check out your stuff way before 6. Go cry me a freakin river.

 Yes, you go home when you're supposed to, not 20 minutes early.

We go home at 6 and some departments have things to do before they can leave.

If the store closes at 6 and you have stuff to do after closing, why would you expect to go home at 6?

the underlings can pretty much leave at 6. The managers have to make sure everything's in order before they can leave

Not necessarily. The underlings need to clean up the store to it's acceptable before they leave. I used to work at Old Navy and the protocol was that if you were scheduled when the store closed, the underlings (i.e. me) stayed an hour after to clean up. The managers stayed a bit longer to count money etc.

If a store closes at 6, it is my understanding that the doors are locked at 6 and people aren't be allowed into the store after that time. If you're in the store when it closes, you need to GTFO as quickly as possible.

Closing early is understandable considering it's Christmas eve but using that kind of language is unacceptable :|

No. Closing early on Christmas eve is shutting down the store at 4 or something instead of the usual 6 o'clock (assuming of course the store closes at 6 on Saturdays). Closing doors before they are scheduled to close is unacceptable IMO.

Edit: The language however, was wholly inappropriate. That kid deserves to get fired.

Addendum: OP, If I'm not mistaken, Wal-mart supervisors usually have a red vest on. Do you remember if the kid had one?

CSM's have red vests, they the front end cash register managers and have nothing to do with store management.

So you're the type of guy that rushes in the last minute before closing and then takes his time shopping.

The guy just said what most people in retail think when someone rushes in just before closing.

Plan, hmm, when a company says it's open untill 6PM I expect it to be open untill that time. My main gripe abput this experience it that this f*ck stick had the nerve to say something like this. He complained about being open since 7 am, you know what if you don't like it freaking quit! I could have cared less about it closing it was the rudeness of this employee. I know if I ever said that to a customer at my work I'd get sh*t canned in a instant.

So someone gave you a gift card and you decided that TODAY at 20 minutes til closing was a great time to go shopping? ON CHRISTMAS EVE? Unless you just met some hot chick and you were on your way in to quickly grab some condoms, you have no excuse!

No my wife forgot to buy oil for baking tomorrow andI was going to get a movie to use up the gift card. 15 minutes would would have been 13 more than I needed. I am sure though that you always go hours before store close!
