Has anyone used type and run software? Looks like exactly what I need, but I'm not sure of the source. Want to know if anyone has any issues with it or not.

Thanks!

I can't seem to find any information about it. The official site gives me this:
Main page

Sorry, my page is under contruction.
You can download last beta version with some plugins and sounds: TypeAndRun v4b9 (2.8 Mb)

From what I can glean from a very quick Google search, it's some kind of console/launcher software? I'd stay the hell away from it to be honest, there is plenty of reputable launch software out there. Try Launchy.

If it's console software, you may want to consider learning Windows Powershell, the new Bash-like shell for Windows. This thing is powerful and, although I haven't started learning it myself beyond the basics, I think it's well worth knowing.

So what exactly is this TypeAndRun?

Edit - further Googling led me to this page, which suggests it's something like a very simple command shell for launching software. Could be worth a try, but I'd be more inclined to check out Launchy for now, especially considering the state of the TypeAndRun website at the moment.

Yes, looks like the official homepage of Typeandrun is under construction, haven't really heard about it though before this. I've used Find and Run Robot (FARR) for quite sometime now and it gets the job done very nicely.

Also, Launchy is a resource hog. It was using 90M of memory for me and 5% of CPU just sitting there...
