Type of memory for dell Inspiron 1100?

I have a 128mb already in there now - I picked up 256mb pc2100 of centon memory and for some reason after I install it - it beeps three times and won't boot.

any suggestions?

send your memory back & got to crucial's website & use the memory configurator to get the "correct" ram!

It seems that dell uses a different voltage than the ram I bought...off to crucial
