Tylenol PM

dont take too much of that stuff, tylenol is extremely bad for your liver. its the biggest cause of liver failure. a lot of people just pop a lot of those at once i guess. i would use benadryl.

Benadryll (AKA diphenhydramine) is the active ingredient in Tylenol PM that makes you drowsy.

i used to take the normal dosage (i don't really a whole lot anymore though) and within about 30 minutes i could barely keep my eyes open and i had (pretty much) no idea what was going on around me, i was just trying to find the closest semi-comfortable place to fall asleep.

It does work, but all it consists of is Acetaminophen & Diphenhydramine (Tylenol & Benadryl) ... Tylenol is tough on your kidneys & liver plus the brand name Tylenol PM stuff
is too expensive anyway, so if you don't have a headache & just want to sleep, go to Walgreens (or similar), snag a large package of generic Diphenhydramine & take 50mg of that by itself... if you DO have a headache, add 100omg generic Acetaminophen too. If price isn't an issue, just buy brand name Benadryl and use that instead, but taking Tylenol when your not in pain is a bad idea.

Edit: Ooops...hj3 beat me to my main point! 😱

really 😕

do what some guy said in another thread. get some excercise. that helps you to sleep at night.

But not RIGHT before bed. I sometimes work out right before bed and have so much energy that I can't sleep. 😛

How about just regular "gentle sleep aids" ?

Tylenol was intended to alleviate pain. Unless you are in pain, this is unnecessary and may expose you to unintended results. Whereas, you simply wanted to sleep, thus a mere sleeping pill would have sufficed.:moon:

Love the stuff. I hae to take it when I'm working days, because I usually stay up all night. Wonderful stuff. Allows me to do my job at security!!

It worked for me. But like it's been mentioned, it's only benedryl w/ tylenol. If you don't have any real pain, the pain reliever is not necessary.

If you want to try it, take 1 pill about one hour before you plan to go to sleep (2 will probably F up the next day for you). And make sure you've had dinner before taking it. Save yourself $4 and get the Equate brand from Wallymart, it is the same thing.

Better to do what others have stated & exercise to induce drowsiness, it is the absolute best way. Your body can't go wrong with that.

I was on a painkiller bender for oh.. a good year. Grams of acetaminophen on a daily basis. Doctor did some tests and my liver was in mint condition.
I would also drink a lot.

I took a couple pills each night for a couple nights, but it didn't help me fall asleep at all. I took some Nyquil last night and today, which also really hasn't helped me to this point. Guess I'll have to see a doctor.
