I'm looking at getting a Tyan Tiger MPX later once the Onboard USB is fixed (it's listed as fixed on their website with the model number S2466N-4M). MY question is first of all, what kind of case am I going to need? Will say that nice Evercase that newegg has work (can't beat $22). Also Will an Enermax 431W Power Supply be enough to run Dual 1800+ MP's? If not, what would you recommend. LMK, thanks

Nice choice of motherboard! First off, the powersupply is more than enough. The case looks like the motherboard footpint *should* work, although, the Tyan board is quite large and deep. Even if it does fit, it will be quite cramped. I would say to look at the Antec lineup. They make good PSUs and very nice cases that are sturdy with a lot of ventilation as well.

Good luck on your dual-CPU adventure!

Yes, you dont want to cram a nice dual processor board with hot processors and ram into a little poorly vented case. Spend a little more and get a good sized case for it and you should use a good 400 watt PSU. Money well spent now will prevent misery down the road.

I found a good deal on a SuperMicro 750A, its full tower with tons of cooling options, and you can find an ANTEC PP403X reasonable. Both would do great for your setup and I would recommend looking into something similar

in general IMHO you prolly want to go with a tower case and ensure good ventilation. By itself, the Athys generate a lot of heat.

I have built a few of these. Don't go with a cheap case. If you are buying a TYAN TIGER dual system you will want to have enough room for all of your drives. Most people use these for video editing and add a Raid or Scsi card to have a few drives. You will also probably have DVD and CDRW drives in this at some point. So spend the money now on a good case so you are ready for whatever you decide to do with the machine. Good brands are Antec, Enlight, Superpower and more. A nice case I have used a few times is the Enlight 8902 Tower Server. It has 10 drive bays and 4 Sunon case fans but is expensive ($140 - $150 with no power supply). Also use atleast a 400W PS. Your case will also have to fit an extended sized motherboard.

Enlight Link Search for 8902

Also one thing I heard about the PS you are thinking of is that enermax is that the 5 volt rail doesn't have very good regulation and that it causes problems with that board
Thats what I heard

Enermax 431 works fine with that board. The 5V problem is with certain Epox boards and it is an Epox problem.
