Can the Tyan S2460 - not S2462 run Dual Tbird - or do I need the proper Athlon MP chip or some old Athlon Xp's ?

Tiger MP S2460 Athlon MP 1GHz to 1.2GHz and 1500+ to 1900+

AthlonMPs are the only chips certified by AMD to run in a SMP configuration, if you can get Tbirds or XPs to do it, good for you.
